What is Levonorgestrel 1.5mg?
Levonorgestrel 1.5mg is an emergency contraception used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or when another birth control technique fails. It operates by blocking the full development of a woman’s egg. Additionally, it may stop the woman’s egg from adhering to the uterus wall. As soon as possible after unprotected sex, take 1 tablet orally with or without food. Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg is most effective when used within 72 hours of unprotected sex. There is no 100% effective contraception method. It is more beneficial to avoid having sex or use birth control measures like getting surgery to become infertile. Use morning pill 1.5mg as a regular form of birth control is not advised.
Call your doctor if you vomit within two hours of taking levonorgestrel tablet as it may need to be taken again. You should continue using your regular method of birth control or start using regular birth control right away since you could become pregnant quickly after treatment with levonorgestrel.
