Could Smoking Causes Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction can be worse by smoking. Tobacco use and other tobacco products can harm the circulatory system, making it more difficult for blood to reach the penis and cause an erection.

Erectile Dysfunction:

The body produces chemicals when a guy is sexually aroused. These substances cause blood to flow into the penis’ spongy tissue. During intercourse, blood pressure maintains the penis stiff, or erect. Following ejaculation, blood returns to the male’s circulation, and the erection weakens. This procedure is hampered by restricted blood supply to the penis.

Why Smoking Causes Erectile Dysfunction?

Cigarette smoke includes over 7,000 different compounds. At least 250 of them are detrimental to human health, with at least 69 being recognized carcinogens.

Tobacco use can contribute to ED. Smoking causes considerable constriction of the blood arteries. This lowers the capacity of blood to circulate throughout the body, particularly into the penis.

It also raises a person’s risk of having health problems that might lead to ED. It also contribute to  heart disease caused by atherosclerosis, Diabetes and high blood pressure. Smokers are one-and-a-half to two times more likely than nonsmokers to develop ED.
